Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global provider of IoT solutions, has launched the Quectel QLM29H range of dual-band, multi-constellation GNSS receivers. Designed to offer precise positioning across a wide range of applications, the QLM29H integrates the LC29H GNSS module and an internal GNSS patch antenna, simplifying RF design for users.

The QLM29H supports dual-band L1 and L5 signals, which provide enhanced multipath mitigation, particularly in environments where precise positioning is essential, such as urban canyons.

“The Quectel QLM29H range of receivers support use cases from micromobility to agriculture with precise positioning capability,” said Norbert Muhrer, President and CSO of Quectel Wireless Solutions. “The QLM29H helps customers adapt or modernize existing designs by enabling them to access dual-band GNSS rather than only L1 signals, provided the legacy product has a simple UART interface. Additionally, the receiver provides customers with the flexibility to use GNSS as a plug-in option, enabling them to choose whether to integrate it based on their specific needs.”

Support for Multiple GNSS Constellations and Enhanced Sensitivity

The QLM29H supports concurrent reception of multiple global and regional GNSS constellations, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, NavIC, QZSS, and SBAS. Its internal LNA, diplexer, and SAW filters enhance the sensitivity and anti-interference capability of the receiver, making it ideal for applications where high-precision positioning is necessary.

These features allow the QLM29H to be used in various fields, including micromobility, precision agriculture, navigation systems, insurance telematics, and tractor steering systems. The QLM29H is designed to enable easy upgrades of legacy L1-only systems by utilizing existing RS232 ports without requiring a complete redesign.

Accelerating Time-to-Market and Flexible Integration

The QLM29H is engineered to reduce development times with its dual-frequency support and enhanced accuracy of 1 meter in autonomous mode, or centimeter-level precision in the real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning variant. It also includes a dead reckoning (DR) function to maintain superior positioning performance in areas with weak signals or no GNSS availability.

With its simple four-wire interface, the QLM29H enables integration with off-the-shelf tablets running open-source software, providing a cost-effective alternative to proprietary ruggedized tablets.
