BiOWiSH® Crop Liquid Earns CFIA Approval
BiOWiSH Technologies, Inc. has announced that its BiOWiSH® Crop Liquid has received regulatory approval from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). This certification marks a significant milestone for the company, enabling the sale and use of its innovative agricultural product in Canada.
“Earning CFIA approval is a testament to our innovative, natural and non-GMO technology, which helps farmers sustainably improve crop production,” stated Bill Diederich, Chief Innovation Officer at BiOWiSH. “Partnering with an industry leader like ADM allows us to work together to advance productivity and climate-smart practices in a way that is practical for farmers to implement.”
Expansion of BiOWiSH® Enhanced Fertilizer Distribution
In conjunction with the CFIA certification, ADM has announced the availability of BiOWiSH® Enhanced Fertilizer at five new terminal locations across the U.S. and Canada. The locations include Picture Butte, Alberta; Carberry, Manitoba; and Lajord, Saskatchewan in Canada, as well as East Dubuque, Iowa, and La Salle, Illinois in the United States. An additional four locations will be added later in the year, including Concordia and Hutchinson in Kansas, and Marion and Twin Brooks in South Dakota.
“BiOWiSH is an industry leader with a strong track record of helping farmers achieve success globally,” said Graig Whitehead, ADM’s Director of Biologicals and New Technology. “With our extensive years of agricultural product expertise and expansion to more ADM locations, BiOWiSH and ADM are poised to help farmers across Canada and the U.S. optimize yield potential and profits.”
BiOWiSH® Enhanced Fertilizer: A Sustainable Solution
The BiOWiSH® Fertilizer Enhancement is designed to be a blend of proprietary microbial cultures that can be coated onto dry fertilizers or mixed with liquid fertilizers to create an enhanced efficiency fertilizer. This product is applied directly by the fertilizer supplier, arriving at farms ready to use.
Available through ADM, the BiOWiSH® Fertilizer Enhancement can be integrated with Urea, Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP), Diammonium Phosphate (DAP), UAN, NPK blends, and more. The product enhances the relationship between plants and soil microbes, leading to optimized nutrient uptake and increased yield potential.
Proven Benefits and Economic Impact
The effectiveness of BiOWiSH® Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizer has been demonstrated across various operating conditions, climates, and environments. Meta-analysis of profit change results from replicated cereal grain studies in the U.S. over a five-year period (2018-2023) showed significant profit increases for farmers. Wheat farmers experienced an average profit increase of $50 per acre, while corn farmers saw an increase of $58 per acre, based on U.S. commodity value ranges.
Additionally, the ADM re
program offers incentives for farmers adopting climate-smart practices, potentially earning them an extra $2 per acre for wheat and corn.
